Review: Pure- by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I finished reading Pure, the second book in the Half-Blood series, and I really enjoyed it.

I also rewrote the synopsis as part the challenge hosted by Misa @ Skyway Avenue for the Summer Wrap-Up Read-a-Thon.

Alex is fated to be the next Apollyon. It sounds pretty awesome, except Aiden --her instructor and the guy-she-should-totally-not-be-interested-in-but-still-is-- seems to be drifting away from her. Also, the current Apollyon, the oh-so-annoying Seth won’t leave her alone! To top that, a crazy, old oracle leaves her with cryptic messages and then turns to dust- just like that! Things go from bad to worse when Daimons attack the school and the suspicion falls on Alex, not to mention someone other than a Daimon seems intent on getting rid of Alex. Will Alex be able to ward off the Daimons before someone dear gets hurt or will she be too late?

Overall Thoughts: Let's just say I gobbled it up in one sitting. I liked that we got to know more about Seth, except I have a strange feeling about him; I just feel like he's working for someone else. I also found it easier to tolerate Lucien, he doesn't seem so bad now- especially when compared to all the Pures who want to get rid of Alex, who I think came a long way from Half-Blood. Overall it was an addictive read, though I was heart-broken everytime Aiden acted cold towards Alex, but then I understand why he did it.

My Rating:   4 stars... I took the fifth one away because...well I can't say; it would count as a spoiler.
